skin problem
crazydaisyodu asked:

i used to live in virginia, spent about 22 years there. the climate is a LOT more humid and wet than california, where i live now, and i lived in the “country” so there was little to NO smog. in the last year and a half of living in a near desert climate in ca, near LA, my skin is not only drier than a bone, its started breaking out more than ever in my life before. i’ve never had bad skin! granted im planning my wedding across country now, so SOME is stress, but it was happening before the planning too. has anyone else had their skin suddenly turn bad and break out from changing climates? how long did it take to adjust and what’d you do in the meantime? for the record im not COVERED in breakouts, just more than i am used to, so please no recommendations for perscription acne stuff, thanks!
thanks for the answers so far, but has anyone not only had the dryness, but broken out as well? what did you do? i can’t over moisturize cus even w/ oil free moisturizers i worry that i will break out more. has anyone else had this problem? should i just treat it like combo skin? how DO you treat combo skin?

it sounds like you should maybe change your morning/night skin regime to suit, including products. its really good to go to a beauty therapist as they know what they are talking about…good luck. brown eyes

I would suggest use vasiline on your dry skin, and take birth control pills to help clear your skin if it’s an option to consider. Of course it would take months to clear it all up, but it definitely helps. Or you can buy the over the counter creme that has 10% benzoyl for acne control, and use it only on the spots to eliminate the drying of your skin around it. Make sure you exfoliate your skin to rid of dead skin. But the best would still be going to a dermatologist before hitting the beauty spa. Good luck to you! Victoria L

My friend moved from Michigan to Nevada and even though that was a really long time ago, she has extraordinarily dry skin. It it always flaky and rough. Doctor prescribed this special ointment thing; I don’t know the name but ask around about it. But it’s helping her get better. She’s only had it for a few weeks too. I’m not sure how long it’s been since she moved. lileskimo

Well I have Eczema..which is basically just dries out the skin..in my case its on my face and it leaves dry patches everywhere…the doctor told me to get some hydrocortisone mosturizing cream and it really works, it puts more moisture in you skin but it probably wont do much for the breakouts…you get it in pretty much any store….cvs,walgreens,walmart..blah blah.. neia88

You could use the Dove moisturizer, it will fell like flame but it will heal and soften your skin.If you want natural things just put olive oil on your face 2 times a day and wonders will happen. mestries_eyes
