Are department store skin care products really better than grocery store?
Andrea W asked:
I am starting a skin care routine and was wondering if I really need to shell out the money for brands such as Lancome, Clinique and Origins, or if Oil of Olay will provide me with the same results. I am looking for products that help even skin tone and give you a “glow”, and also for under eye circles and nipping eye wrinkles in the bud. I am 22 and have normal skin. Thanks!!

id say no, just more expensive
It really depends on your skin type. I like using clinique because the 3-step skin care system is more personalized than the stuff that I have found at drug stores. Also, the eye cream works well for me and I have extremely puffy eyes. I’m not trying to sound like a salesman because I don’t work at clinique, I just love their products.
Very good products:
Queen Helen products.
You skin needs sun protection uva/uvb/broad spectrum to keep them wrinkles away. Stay away from caffeine it dehydrates the body.
Drink water throughout the day.
Cheaper brands put in more harsher chemicals. That include sulphates, perfumes.
Check with a Sephora beautician. Maybe walk away with free samples.
Andrea,
There is a difference. A skin cream you get at Walmart, or at a 99cent store are filled with fillers. The active ingredients are measured in decimals rather than percentages. It would be like thinking you can find a 40k diamond ring in a cracker jack box. In effect you get what you pay for. Fillers don’t get rid of fines lines, or wrinkles.
I use to use Olay but found something better about 2 yrs ago. For the eye area I use Extreme Eye Rescue
For the general face, hands, neck, arms, feet I use their extreme anti aging Preve:
Like you I’m in my early 20’s but you are never too young to start using preventative measures. I hope this helps you as it did for me.
