  1. Cowbell Fever says:

Take him to a groomer, they will let you know if your dog has any skin problems, and the best plan of action. Skin issues can be caused by a bad diet, allergies, or skin mites or fleas. They can recommend bathing products and grooming tips. You should be taking your dog to the groomer every few months, anyway, since he is a long haired breed.

Sounds like it. Make sure he’s on a good quality food, diet is often the source of skin and coat problems. Go to dogfoodanalysis.com and find a good quality food and make the switch if you’re feeding something that’s not so great.

Also, visit your groomer and ask what they do for dogs with dandruff or skin problems; they often have oatmeal shampoo or other special shampoos for dry skin. Ask what kind of shampoo they recommend if you bathe at home.

You might want to take him to the vet, because skin problems can be caused by bugs or infections. If you groom your dog yourself, try switching shampoos. If you go to a groomer, talk to them about it.

    Hope this helps!
