Bana asked:

The skin tone of my face has become slightly darker than that of my neck and collarbone area (due to unnecessary face tanning even though I always wear sunscreen SPF 50).

For my face, should I use a “darker” foundation shade that matches the skin color of my face, or should I use a “lighter” foundation shade that matches with my neck and collarbone area?

I would suggest going lighter, but not dramatically, which you probably already know. I would suggest hitting up your local mall and asking a department store make-up specialist or going to MAC or sephora (if in your area). you can get consultations for free and find out exactly what to use.
