your pregnant, you concern should be with the health of your baby and not your complexion. but at least have the sense to check with your doctor. howie r

  2. Insanity is contagious says:

try aloe for the rash and wash your face alot for the zits. Insanity is contagious

Your doctor can prescribe a topical to put on your face to help with the complection problems. My first three months, my skin looked horrendeous but after that my hormones leveled and I stopped getting the zits. Just talk to your gyno and have him prescribe something to help take those away. And no, the topical wont hurt your baby any. monicamillions

I totally get where your coming from…as if we don’t have enough to deal with! I’m 16 weeks and the last few weeks i have had the same issues. I’m told that it will go away once the baby is born and our hormones change back. I don’t think there is a cure for it.

And Howie R…..just because we are concerned about how we look a little doesn’t mean we don’t care about our child. She clearly asked what is safe to use. You must be a guy!!!!!!!!!!

sorry some people irritate me! Sab123

I had this same problem with my second pregnancy - I searched all over the place for something to help and actually found a moisturizer from The Body Shop - its pure vitamin C and they have face wash and lotion and I swera it helped. To this day I still use it. Try something like - I also found that some of the Dove products worked as well. The Body Shop has a website you can go to if you want to order from there or try some of the Dove products - at least thats what worked for me, I know everyone’s skin is different but I really do swear by the Vitamin C. Good Luck! danczar1

Skin changes so much during pregnancy. This individual that said…you shouldn’t be worried about your face and only your baby is a complete b*** wipe.

You should be concerned about your baby, but also take care of yourself. If you feel down, these feeling affect your baby. So, there….that’s the truth girl.

I have very sensitive skin and it got worse and so dry when i got pregnant. It is expensive, but try the Rejuvinate Arbon Line….it doesn’t have any Salicylic Acid (which you should avoid) and made my skin glow. The great thing to is you can get the one week sample for free from an Arbon sales person to try it out…so you don’t have to buy it and waste money if it doesn’t work out.

Best of Luck to You and Your Bebe! BlueTexas

My solution for breakouts and skin irritation:

Bare Escentuals Mineral Make up. I have been using this makeup for about two years now, and used to have acne prone skin, and now barely have breakouts. The make up is made of pure minerals, no binders, so it won’t clog your skin and is safe to use during pregnancy. Also, it contains titanium dioxide, a mineral known for its anti-inflammatory qualities…it really works! This make up is so good for your skin, you can actually sleep in it. When I do have a blemish swelling up, I simply apply the mineral powder concealer and by the next morning, it will be flat and not inflamed.

I too have a red rash on my chin and have since figured where it is from. I have had an increase in saliva production with this pregnancy….annoying and gross, especially when I’m asleep at night. The irritation is caused from excess saliva (drooling) during sleep…and yes, it gets red from being upset or hot! I have been using the A + D lanolin diaper ointment on it. Just lightly dab it on the red blotches.

    I hope this helps ya!

P.S. You can get a Bare Minerals starter kit either online or at the Bare Mineral Boutiques (if one is near your) or at Sephora. It is about 60 bucks, but absolutely worth it. I was nervous about spending that much $$ on makeup, especially if it didn’t give me the coverage I wanted, but I have never been so pleased with a cosmetic. I use it everyday, and it is the only cosmetic I use. I would recommend going to the boutique or Sephora, where they will do a free makeover, to determine your ideal color kit. It’s a lot of fun and would be a nice pampering treat for a mommy-to-be. The kit lasts a long time, too. My first kit lasted me about 7 months, and I wear makeup everyday! Jessica S
