I have a really bad problem with my skin?
little s asked:
My skin is really acting weird. The skin on my jaw, forhead and the side of my left eye have been flaking off. What should I do? I dont even know what it is. I have been using cleasers and then I started using oliveoil. Ollive oil helped somewhat and then it jjust feels like my skin absorbed all the oil because when I feel it again ten minutes later it feels dry and flaky. I need your help. Dont tell me to go to a dermatologist. Thank you for helping me. No silly answers.

Did you recently start the stuff? If so, your skin is just getting used to it. Mine did that when I started Proactiv. Katelyn
Hi, well that’s what happens to me when I go on holiday. It’s my eczema- the sun, sea water and chlorine dries it out. When I wake up the next morning there is a sheet of skin that has come off on it. I use this thing called conotrane to stop my skin drying out- it’s a barrier cream. And if it’s too late I use this big tub of Aqua cream stuff, it’s like emulsifying stuff that you put in a bath and then soak in for about an hour, do this for a couple of days and then it should be fine. With your face then smooth on a moistener and leave it on then wash off gently, then repeat- hope it helps! bobziekins
I used to have that problem. Chronic flaky skin that itched around my chin area, eye lid and the side of my nose. Makeup would cover it for a couple of minutes but the flaky stuff would show through.
I did go to the doctor and she diagnosed it as eczema. She gave me some prescription hydrocortisone which helped the itching but the flaking never went away. I tried all sorts of facial regimens from DHC (olive oil based) to Proactiv to Philosophy to more common drug store brands.
Another doctor said is atopic dermatitis and also prescribed hydrocortisone.
Finally, after trying lots of different remedies, I started using Origins and wham, almost overnight the itching stopped and in a few days, the flaking was gone. It’s been three months and I’ve had no outbreaks.
I guess what I’m saying is try some different skin care things especially all natural. Origins worked for me but it is expensive. Good Luck. I know what you’re going through and it’s not fun. se_texas_girl
