I’m too young for these skin problems! help?
Meg asked:
I’m a teenager but i already have red blotchy skin, sunspots, and large pores. what can i do to change this!? is it reversible?
i exfoliate once a day, and wash my face twice a day. I use moisturizer and oil free/mineral makeup. I am not exposed to the sun very often (around here, the sun is rare ha ha) i drink water, and my moisturizer and makeup both have SPF 15. I have a fair complection, but i am much too young for these problems. HELP!

As a teenager.. you should not need to be exfoliating every day. Once or twice a week should be enough. It’s unlikely you have sunspots, but you may have freckles. you do not mention what your colouring is. If you are fair or redhead /ginger you skin is thinner and is far more sensitive to the sun. and could be damaged by regular sun exposure , meaning just walkin about day to day.. even if you wear an spf factor. Some skin problems are heredetery but you might try stopping washing and exfoliating. Try using a cream cleanser and a toner (for your skin type) or if you’re prone to spots try a liquid cleanser like clearasil. The toner or liquid cleanser should make your pores look smaller. Unfortunately nothing can really get rid of sunspots or freckles although some creams say they can fade them eg. fade out cream. starlett
Relax, it’s not till you’re 18 that skin will form it’s permanent pigment. I was extremely pale and sickly looking when I was a kid, but all that eventually disappeared. Don’t stress it, eat well and know you’re problems aren’t permanent. Ethan
