In case of dry skin problem, how to protect babies from cold through cotton instead of wool?

My baby has a dry skin and appears tiny bumps on forehead and mild red patches on cheeks. Doctor told that his skin is dry so therefore he suggested some precautions. In which he advised for cotton wearing instead of wool, archylic or nylon. Now winter has been arrived. I am worried that how could I protect my baby from cold through cotton wearings instead of wool. Can any one help me in this regard?

Its actually quite easy.
Look at the tag of clothing that you may plan on buying for your baby.
Just make sure its made of cotton. (Winter type clothing)
Then if (S)he is small and sits in a carrier, put a small yet thick cotton blanket over them when you have to carry her/him through the cold air.

You could put a very thin cotton beanie on and then a woolen one over it.
