skin problem
al asked:

I have this friend and she a really good girl. She’s half black and half puerto rican and has dark skin. If you saw her walking down the street, you’d think she was African American. We were talking the ohter day and she was explaining to me that most puerto ricans don’t accept her as being boricua…even though she was born on the island and speaks spanish. I didn’t understand. Do light-skinned puerto ricans have a problem with darker-skinned puerto ricans?
So, are darker skinned PR more accepted on the island than here in the states?

  1. Qwerty™ says:

The light-skin/dark-skin dynamic exists in all nations that were conquered by Europeans. In their small minds, lighter is better, so the darker you are, the least accepted you are.

    Sad, sad, sad. Qwerty™

Yes mostly in places where being “white” is rare or odd,(but it can happen) but most of the people in that place are mixed that’s where people are usually the most racist examples(latinos/indians/arabs) etc Yes, it’s racist and soo obviously you can tell those people aren’t very bright and half these people who are racist are not even white. sad sad sad Boo
