Make up and skin problems?
Katie asked:
I never used to wear a lot of makeup but over the past year I have been wearing primer, foundation, concealer and blusher, as well as eye makeup and lipgloss. My skin is not as good as it used to be. I get spots and blemishes and redness that I have to cover up. I always take my makeup off and I use cleanser and moisturiser and once a week I exfoliate. What do you think is causing my bad skin? Does anyone have any tips? I’m 23.

Oh adult acne, I was plagued with this problem. I still am. Daily cleansing in the morning and before you go to bed always, as you said, but I would also recommend trying Proactive. It worked wonders for me and you may find that you’ll be using even less concealer and foundation as your skin improves. ♀Redheaded Sunshine☼
You could try a mineral makeup they apparently are non-comedogenic or something like that, which would help im guessing… Your Ma
Since it seems that your makeup is causing the problems I would be looking at changing the products themselves. Perhaps it’s the oil content and you need to opt for oil free. Unfortunately with makeup it’s a vicious cycle. You get a break out because of makeup, apply more makeup to cover it and then get worse break outs.
One option would be to move away from traditional makeup entirely and try the new craze of mineral makeup. It’s powder based but still has great coverage, and even has concealers, eyeshadows, blushes and even lipglosses and mascaras (obviously those aren’t powders. lol). They’re generally talc free which helps them to not block pores. You should check it out. There are alot of brands around at the moment but one getting fairly consistently great reviews is Everyday Minerals. annanana
