My ball pythons skin has changed is there a problem I should be concerned about?

Toward the end of the tail..my snakes skin has changed..it seems to have a silver gloss to it and is really rough.. When I handle him..he wont curl his tail around like he used to..and his skin along his body seems to be baggy like its too much skins on him…is there a real problem?

I’ve never actually owned a snake but it sounds like it is just about to shed its skin. I don’t know a whole lot about this process but I do know that water will help loosen the skin and their eyes will turn a milky blue color just before they are ready. Cody
If you can put up a picture that would be just great. I believe this may be his shedding time, but I’m uncertain because you said he cannot curl is tail much. Put up a picture and I’ll try my best to help you out. MissTiff
That sounds to me like he might be a little dehydrated. Also he may not have finished his shed all the way and the skin left on the tale might be cutting off circulation. I recommend giving him a bath in warm water with a little gatorade. LISH
The thing that you said it looks like there’s to much skin that’s fine, the tail thing may be that he is not getting all the skin off when he sheds, try putting him in a large tupperware with a warm damp towel on top and on bottom, for about 15 mins if that doesn’t work take him to a vet that specializes in reptiles.
