umm, the cuts are probably painful, take him to a vet. Plus you might catch it if its something serious. herekittykittyll
he ha s askin irritant. take him to the vet. he is cut because hes clawing himself trying to scratch. he screems in runs because the pain comes in sudden bursts. Maestro
Sounds like he is really suffering…please take him to the vet. Red Nose
I agree with all of them , your best bet is go to a vet, take it’s food and some water sample…just to be sure. Chris
Check if he has loose teeth. Skin sores and loose teeth are a sign of scurvy (dunno if I spelled it right), which is a vitamin c deficiency. Guinea Pigs need lots of vitamin c because they can’t make it themselves as many animals can. By this point it should be treated by a vet, but to prevent this in the future give your piggy red.orange fruits and veggies, guinea pig food or treats enhanced with vitamin c, or put a bit of Tang juice powder in his water. lovethemrodents
piggie dude
It sounds like he he may have mites, which is a common, but painful condition. Little tiny microscopic bugs burrow underneath the skin of the guinea pig causing extreme pain and itching. Sometimes the pain is so bad that guinea pigs can have seizures. If left untreated, it can cause death as the guinea pig may stop eating completely because he is so miserable. Guinea pigs with mites also tend to scratch so much that they actually scratch through their skin causing open sores and missing hair.
Good news is that it is a very common parasite and is very cheap and easy to treat. You will want to take your pig to a vet, though, in case something else is going on. Check out the link below for more information. qwerty456
