Skin-Care Kit For American Girl Dolls - Does it work?
Just Sarah asked:
I am looking at their website and wondering if the skin care powder really does anything?Do you think it’s worth buying? I’ve had my doll for 12 years and I am wanting to clean her up.

I bought it and all it is is baking soda. Just use plain baking soda. Ive had mine for 5 years and there skin is starting to turn a greyish color from lack of care……ooopppsss!!! Well i hope this helps!
I am not sure if it helps-it probley does i have two dolls myself so please e-mail me to tell me if it works if you buy it.
P.S. Please do not use baking poder
If the doll is old it probably won’t work. It is probably some money making scheme they push on new doll owners. Wipe it with a wet cloth every now and then and it should be fine.
The skin care kit is indeed just baking soda in a little shaker can and a couple of thin washcloths. So you can replicate that yourself, right? But moreover, don’t expect it to make an old doll look new. The baking soda will clean away surface grime and perhaps a small scuff but will NOT make your doll perfect. If you just want to freshen up your doll, go for the baking soda (just a teeny bit). If your doll has major skin issues, consider sending her to the doll hospital (they can even replace her head, but then would you feel it was the same doll you loved so long?). You may decide that a little wear and tear on your doll just shows she was loved and played with.
