your skin reacted to it… it’ll go away… just put moisturising cream on it and around that area for a while, once a day. and dont scratch it Kriss

it should heal up itself, put some moist riser around it, and give it 2-3 days to heal… if nothing happens then go and see your doctor rob
hmm. sounds like a reaction to the dettol. you might need some sort of ointment from the doctor, so make an appointment. i think you’re meant to dilute dettol before you use it. nature’s goodness
if by feeling like a scar you mean that it is read and tight or harder than your normal skiin, dont worry. this will go away in a few days time by peeling off. just moisturise and wait. Ellie

I didn’t know what Dettol was so I looked it up. It’s a household product! It was said to be good in the treatment of acne is small quantities. Ugh, you re having a reaction just don’t use it again!! Many products that you can use on your body should not be applied to your face ever. The skin on your face it very thin and porous. You ever wonder why if you cut your face it bleeds so much more than anywhere else? You have millions of capillaries very close to the surface, so products you put there can react differently to other places on your body. Your face skin is just different then the rest of your body. Don’t use strange products there unless you know you can. If you have a skin problem go to a dermatologist or try products such as proactive or prescriptive. Or just buy a good product at your local store. But you said “skin problem” not acne, so maybe it’s something else like eczema or another skin condition all together. If it’s reoccurring and bothering you I’d suggest just seeing a Dr. I have a little eczema around my nose and chin, I just use a prescription lotion and it goes away. Brat
Dettol often does this to people. Did you use it neat, or not as diluted as you should have done. It will subside: the area may peel a little, and the ’scar’ appearance flake, exposing slightly raw skin underneath. Don’t worry though: it won’t leave any lasting scar or anything.
The best thing to do in future will be either to stay away from Dettol altogether (given your reaction to it), or use it in an extremely dilute form if you must use it at all. Nathan T
