Honey Bee asked:

Hi, I moisturise my skin twice a day with Dove facial moisturiser, but lately have had crusty skin bits around my nose and scaly patches around my mouth as well. Is there something else I can do to have nice moist skin? Thanks,

Use a facial mask to remove the dry flakes on the skin’s surface.
Try a fine facial moisturizer such as one from Macy’s.
Another hint is baby oil OR 100% honey.(Leave honey on face, then remove after 15 minutes). mouses1

I’ve discovered Arbonne’s skincare products to be phenomenal. Depending on your age, you could try the Intelligence Line or NutriMin Line. What I didn’t realize is that most skincare and cosmetic companies use in their products is mineral oil, which is not good at all for your skin! Arbonne doesn’t put mineral oil in their products, but instead are botanically based, Swiss formulated, and made here in the US. Turtlemoon

Your skin may not necessarily be dry. You could have a skin condition called sebborheic dermatitis. And using a lot of moisturiser will actually make your skin flake more. I have the condition. Try a little over the counter cortison creme such as Cortaid, twice a day. If it helps you may want to go to the doctor and get a prescription. He gave me a prescription, the pharmacist mixes ketoconazole & Elidel. I use it twice a day, when the condition flares up. After the 1st month or so of using it the conditon clears, then you’ll only need the prescription when it flares up. (The condition is similar to dandruff). If the cortisone cream works, you’ll not want to use it for too long because steroid creams can age your face skin. But the mixture the doctor gave me is an antifungal (which a fungus is the cause of the condition) and a non-steroid cream which treats the flaking. If I didn’t have my cream my skin would be a fright. Good luck. 2D
