What can a dermotologist prescribe for dry skin and acne marks? Is it worth going in for these problems?

I have chronic dry skin (as well as chapped lips) and a lot of acne marks - in other words, red marks left after a breakout. I’m wondering if it’s worth going to a dermotologist for these problems. What exactly can they give you? Prescription strength lotions?
