Is there a problem with Puerto Ricans and skin color?

I have this friend and she a really good girl. She’s half black and half puerto rican and has dark skin. If you saw her walking down the street, you’d think she was African American. We were talking the ohter day and she was explaining to me that most puerto ricans don’t accept her as being boricua…even though she was born on the island and speaks spanish. I didn’t understand. Do light-skinned puerto ricans have a problem with darker-skinned puerto ricans?
So, are darker skinned PR more accepted on the island than here in the states?

Can sweat cause major problems to the skin? For example making it black etc?

One being i have extremely dark skin around my neck due to heat and dirt which is somthing that bothers me now. Another is my bottom lip… here is story behind that… when i was young i refused to use lip chap because i felt it was girly no i wasnt walking around ashy lipped lol but my lips cracked offten so i would walk around with my lips tucked in(or sucking on my lips) how ever u put it so now i have dark dark skin around ma bottom lips i hate thoes 2 things about my skin i have been using skin care products but they all foucs on blemishes and pempils what should i do for this?

I am mixed and i really hate my skin. Especially the skin on my neck/throat and back. So i wondered how i could change it without spending a fortune and damaging my skin severly. I am not planning on being chalk white or having fair skin. A Dark Olive Skin Tone would be fine and still seem natural. I live in Europe and it’s not to sunny here but when it is i usually use sunblocker and avoid going into the sun. I want to be lighter because i like the way it looks. I do think that other people are pretty with dark skin but not me. I do NOT want to lighten my skin because someone has told me or because of celebirties (i actually do have the skin color most black celebirties WANT. It kinda like Rhianna- maybe a little lighter). My mum thinks i have oh so pretty skin but i think it’s to dark. I heard that they are diets and stuff????
