Bull terrier and skin problems?
Well I have a white Bull Terrier pup and recently I found out they are prone to skin problems. My puppy is loosing hair in little spots all over his body. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow for a skin scraping to rule out mange, although I know it’s not mange.Because my other dog shows no symptoms. And puppy has bumps it comes with it so I’m pretty sure its an skin allergy.
So does anyone else have a Bull Terrier and have the same problems. And if so what was the treatment and is it expensive.
Any info would help-thanks
so I should change his diet. what is a good dog food that doesn’t have all that stuff in it.
German Shephard skin problems?
I have a purebred German Shephard who is of pure German heritage(shipped from Germany) and he is having some skin problems. I was wondering if there are any specific suppliments that are geared toward this breed. I know that German shephards have a more alkaline skin type than any other dog and it causes them to be more prone to dry skin and itching.
He has hot spots on his back and rear. We don’t over-bathe him as i know it can make the problem worse in shephards.
The problem is not allergies as we have already had him tested for that. And we are feeding him Solid Gold brand dog food(very high quality).
Also he is a very picky eater so suggestions like putting fish in his dish won’t work as he will just eat around the fish.
Any ideas on specific suppliments, special shampoo’s and conditioners, or topical lotions/sprays would be great
** Yes i already talked with my vet..they said it wasn’t mites/allergies/ or any other medical problems…it was just part of the breed
My dogs are suffering with a skin problem. The VET can’t seem to help us. Many people are having same issues
The dogs itch badly, there are NO FLEAS, they lose their hair and seem to be miserable. One friend (about 300 miles away) has spent nearly $1000 and his dogs still have the problem. Can anyone help our poor miserable dogs?

My dogs had the problem last summer, but not nearly as severe. No problem in the winter. As soon as the weather started to get warm, the itching started and now my golden has no hair from mid-body to her tail. Her skin is red and very leather like. NO BATHS, all natural, expensive dog food, no flea collars, tried Benedryl for relief (doesn’t seem to help)
They seem so miserable, I have considered putting them down because I can’t seem to help them. My shepherd mix male just cries he is so uncomfortable. Dogs are not related and both about 6 years old.
6 month old Weimaraner with skin problems?
I have a 6 month old Weimaraner. Recently, he has broke out in red bumps on his skin, his skin is flaky and dry, and he has had some hair loss, nothing too extreme, but it’s noticeable. I use a good dog shampoo on him and feed him a good dog food. I have heard they have very sensitive skin and are apt to have allergic reactions to almost anything, such as carpet cleaner, dog food with veggies in it, or a cleaner that is used to clean his pen, etc. He doesn’t act like anything bothers him and he doesn’t itch a lot. Can you tell me what may be wrong with him or what I would need to change??
