Dog with skin problems?
I am looking after my brothers Jack Russel while he is on holiday. She is a lovely little thing but she is constantly scratching and rubbing herself raw by dragging herself along the carpet.
She had been to the vet on numerous occasions, she does not have fleas or mites (she has had skin scrapings taken) and the vet concludes its stress related - she does get worse if she goes into kennels etc, which is why she now stays with us. They did try diets recommend by the vets which didn’t work which is why he is convinced its stress.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any skin regime that I can suggest my brother and his family follow to stop her itching so much? I currently have her on Serenum, a herbal ‘calmer’ to see if that calms her down a bit which in theory will then stop her getting stressed and therefore not so itchy.
Any advice please?
My brother has no carpets in his house, only wooden floors and the dog is bathed in Tea Tree Oil dog shampoo when she needs bathing. She is on a chicken and rice diet suggested by the vet. She has been this way since she was a puppy but it gets worse in certain situations which leads the vet to conclude it is stress related.
What can i get for my dog’s skin problem?
I just took my dog to the vet today, and she has a skin allergy from the fleas biting her. We put flea medication on now, but from where they were irritating her, her fur is gone and extremely raw. The vet didn’t give a specific type of anything to put on it, but i was wondering if anyone knew of something, thanks!
my pug x chiaua has skin problems and nothing seems to make it better?
it started after about two weeks after having her, a scab appeared on her head and then it spread to all over her head and then her fur started to fall out on the top of her head. after a short while it spread to her front and back legs and her tail. it has grown back on her head now but is still hasn’t on her legs or tail, which are scabby now and it looks horrible. we have been to the vets so many times and spent so much money doing so. shes had skin scrapings, treated for mites, fleas, many injections, has been on antibiotics for months, and we have a special shampoo that we have to wash her with once a week. her fur grew back pretty much completely once but then fell out on her back legs and tail again. nothing seems to help and i wondered if anyone else’s dogs have had any problems like this and what they did to help it.

How to get rid of a rottweilers skin problems?
Every summer, my dog starts scratching. At first we thought it was fleas, but I really don’t think it is. She itches until she has no fur left in that area and she looks horrible. This summer is the worst yet. We don’t have the money to take her to the vet right now and my mom says she wants to get rid of her. I’d really like to keep her, so does anyone know how we can get rid of her skin problems without going to the vet? If we get rid of her, we’d have to take her to the SPCA and she’d probably get put down because of the type of dog she is. We could give her away, but I don’t know anyone who wants her because of the way she looks right now. I don’t know what to do, could someone please give me some ideas.
Suggestions for my cats skin problems?
I’ve had my cat for 3 and 1/2 years now (her whole life, she’s 3 and 1/2) and she’s never had any skin problems until recently. She licks her front arms until there is hardly any fur anymore. She also does this to her hind legs and a small part on her stomach, but minimally. Also, she’ll scratch the backs of her ears until there is no more fur, and occasionally small sores. I know it’s not mites or fleas, and I’m pretty positive it’s not a food allergy because she eats nothing but California Natural and EVO. (She’s a very spoiled little girl.) I’ve tried putting bitter apple on the spots to stop the licking, but to no avail.
I went to the pet store today and got the Avoderm Oatmeal shampoo for cats and dogs to see if it would improve anything. Also, a spray that is specially designed for allergic dermatitis in cats and dogs. If these things don’t work in two weeks or so, I’m going to take her to the vet, but I wanted to exercise all of my options before that.
I’m wondering if anyone else has had a problem similar to this and if so, what did you do so your cat (or dog even) would stop licking the fur away?
Are blue mastiffs predisposed to skin problems like blue pitbulls?
she is chewing on herself alot like she is irritated. She does not have fleas, i’ve been checking.
i don’t bathe her that often. I’ve only given her 2 baths since she stopped smelling like a puppy.
i feed her large breed puppy food. she is 5 months
Flea or skin irritation problem?
My dogs are five yrs old, for the 1st time we r encountering a flea problem, i hav tried all products such as collars, frontline, expensive shampoos, powder, it works for a week then they start scratching again. Sometimes i think its a skin irritation coz i can’t find any fleas, i’ve even tried tea tree oil. Please any suggestions.
West Highland Terrier Skin Problems?
My almost 4 year old West Highland Terrier is having some skin problems. His front and back legs are very inflamed and a bright bright pinkish red color. They’re also very flaky and he bites and licks them constantly. We’ve giving him Iams food for a while but it happened before we switched foods so i don’t think its from that. He doesn’t have fleas and he’s super clean! He’s also scratching his muzzle a lot too. I dont know whats wrong with him please help!!
P.S. He’s up to date on all his shots and meds (flea, heartguard, etc.)

Papillion skin problems?
My one year old papillion has an itching problem and theres something wrong with his skin. He doesn’t have fleas. And I give him baths every week/ every other week. What’s wrong with him? And how can I help it?
