My son is two months old. I noticed that his scalp seems to be very flaky - but it’s not yellow/crusty/greasy like cradle-cap. Is there a way to treat this? I’ve tried lotions and oils - they just seem to make his skin irritated. Also, my son had a bad case of infant acne that is clearing up - but now his skin just feels very dry and rough where the acne was - should I put lotion on it?

It’s getting to the point where I don’t shave as much as I need to. Kind of gross, I know, but I don’t really have a choice. I’ve tried everything from Johnson’s Baby Lotion to Jergens, but the lotions just make it burn. (Have it on my back and legs mostly…looks like I had an allergic reaction to something.) The only thing that I can put on it that I already have is baby oil, but I don’t really want to have to lather up with that every day.
The baby oil is the only thing I can put on it that won’t burn, but it doesn’t help in clearing it up.

My skin gets really dry on my hands during the winter, but also during other seasons. I’ve tried using lotions but they don’t work. I’m currently using petroleum jelly, but I’m not seeing many results. Also, my skin is very fair and white and I don’t tan well. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to make it easier for me to tan?

What can a dermotologist prescribe for dry skin and acne marks? Is it worth going in for these problems?

I have chronic dry skin (as well as chapped lips) and a lot of acne marks - in other words, red marks left after a breakout. I’m wondering if it’s worth going to a dermotologist for these problems. What exactly can they give you? Prescription strength lotions?

I’m fifteen and I have eczema. I understand that eczema is an extremely common thing, but its hard to live with.
My eczema is somewhat severe. It fluctuates between okay-feeling to painfully bad. I have gone to a dermatologist many times in the past few years, and it just seems that the things she prescribes don’t work. I’ve been on topical steroids ranging from very strong to mild. I’ve been urged to use moisturizing creams including AquaPhor, and only fragrance-free lotions.
When I use any of the topical steroids, it clears up almost completely after a few days. Unfortunately, the results don’t stay long - lasting about 1-2 days before flaring up again.
When I use moisturizers religiously for a few days, it helps the dry skin, but will stop taking effect after a while. I’ve also been known to get huge, painful pimples all over my arms when using lotions. (Which has been mistaken for scabies twice by the doctor.)

I’m running out of ideas - any solutions or remedies would be helpful.

What skin-lightening product should I use to lighten my face?

China Doll Nightmare asked:

My entire body is paper white but my face has an olive or tannish coloring to it. If I put my hand up to my face, you can see the comparison. I just want my face’s skin color to match my body skin color. I’d prefer to use homemade products (I tried lemon juice for a little while but my skin became sensitive to it). So, can anyone recommend any cheap skin-lightening creams or lotions? Or homemade remedies?

I do shower and bathe, and use the afterbath/shower lotions and creams, which helps the itch for at least twenty-four hours. But is there anything to help my dry skin from itching more than 24 hours, like creams or other remedies? I know it’s not a disease, but a dry skin condition.
