Liz asked:

I adopted an older dog (13+) a couple of years ago and have been managing her seasonal skin allergy and other problems since then. I”m looking for suggestions for really good dry dog food that may help, without grain fillers. Any suggestions?

A little background: She is a corgi mix with very thick chow-like hair. She may be part chow - she has a mostly-black tongue. Although she’s fifteen now and deaf, she is still lively, alert and can be very active between naps. Her skin problems have improved with frequent medicated and/or oatmeal baths, 1000 mg of omega 3 oil/day, diligent year-round flea treatment, and short “puppy” haircuts in the hot weather. BUT… she still has a lot of dandruff and occasional summer skin infections that my vet treats w/steroids and antibiotics. At her age, I’d rather she didn’t have to get steroids. SO… I’m now looking for suggestions for better dog food that may also help manage her problems. I currently feed her Nutro Senior dry dog food, and mix in a little Nutro Senior wet food. This food includes chondroitin/ glucosamine to help manage arthritis.

Thanks for any suggestions…
