Can the pill cause weight gain and skin problems?

I’m just about to go on the pill, however I am worried that it will cause weight gain as this will cause me to become self concious, especially before I go away for my summer holiday. I go to the gym almost every day, eat healthily and am a size 8, so I feel good about my body as it is.

I have also heard that it causes skin problems which would also be a little distressing if it happened to me as a side effect.
So how likely would it be that I would gain weight and develop skin problems as a result of taking the pill??

Okay my friend is too embarrased to ask questions like this herself so i told her i would do it. She has had a problem for years with her skin and was too embrasses to tell anyone except her mom. She had all these acne problems before but now its just left these redish, purple places on her inner thighs, on the bottom of her boobs and on her stomache and her butt. she has tryed like everything she says to get rid of it but the “scars” as she calls it and they just dont’ seem to ever go away. If you have any idea what this is or how to get rid of it please answer because i hate that she is so self concious about herself because of this because she is sooo beautiful. i want her to feel better so please answer if you think you can help. and yes she has been to the doctor once for this but what they recomended didn’t help at all.
