I cleaned the floor w/ clear watter washed everything she owns and tied her up to some very open empty space. But i was womdering, what else i can do for her? Is there some special detergent to mop w/, some special shampoo, is there anything else a should be doing?

Find a good quality food. Solid Gold, Innova, Canidae are some to look for. Dogs can be allergic grass and many aspects sands. The pills will only take her so far. The food is really the only other thing you can to help her. Food allergies are the most common. Then external elimates like grass and other common allergens. Give that a shot, see what happens. The food thing is a good idea. My dog has dry/irritated skin and he used to chew out his fur. We bathed him in a special sensitive skin dog shampoo (I think oatmeal shamoo), stopped feeding him “human” food and scraps ( to prevent an allergic reaction ), and put him in one of those head funnels while he healed. The allergies seem to come seasonally so I just deal with it as it comes. Good Luck! STX389

If your vet is insulting and condescending, time to find another vet. He should have given you a medicated itch wash, should have done an allergy test to narrow down what was the problem, and given you more suggestions for solutions. Go and find another vet, tell them the way the last vet treated you and what the last vet had prescibed, they will probably be eager to do more than their competition did. Big red

See another vet. This one has no clue what he’s talking about. sniffydogs

see another vet… we had to take our dog to a doggie dermatologist (skin doc) and we also find it helpful the no itch shampoo and cremes that Dr Foster and Smith sell. You can get them on line at their website. pitbull parent

I got this powder from the vet and I found it at the pet store too called Missing Link Omega 3 Basic. for Canines. I have been giving a teaspoon of powder over my dogs dry food every day for about two weeks now. She was itching and scratching and driving me nuits. She has stopped all her scratching and itching and is calm and happy. Her skin has improved completely. I am sure you can find this on the internet, If not email me and I will send you a link to the pet store I bought it at. I bought it at peggywoods pet emporium in Burbank, ca. I have a Lhasa Apso weight 11 lbs so you would adjust the amount you put on the food according to your dogs weight.. Good luck.I am really surprised this stopped the clawing and itching and she is doing so well. I was sure she was going to be bald. I am so happy she is calm now and not bald. katie d
