Why does my Cystic Fybrosis create skin problems?
I am 13, going on 14, and I have had some strange skin problems my whole life. They just recently(past 1-2 years) started to upset me. It’s allover my face. [Noticably] Started when I was about 5 years old, it started on the right side of my face, and has spread to my whole right cheek, a little in the center of my chin, just across my nose, and between my eyebrows. It gets more noticable the more I cough. The specks are small, and are somehow like tiny “dashes”and and scattered. I wish I could describe them best.
But I am not really comfortable with my face like this. And my mom doesn’t really make me feel comfortable talking about this stuff. I want to get rid of it. But first I need to know what the real problem with it is.
What procedures would help? Any thing I can do myself?
Oh, and the doctors, when my mom first asked(when it showed up originally) they said it was dead blood cells caused to die by my coughing. They didn’t explain anything more.
Can anyone help?

In cystic fibrosis sweat glands are also affected,it may be causing problem.
Try drinking a lot of water. That should wash out the toxins that your body has trouble getting rid of as a person with cystic fibrosis. Then there is a kind of make up used by cosmetic physicians that can cover things like rosacia. It should help cover it at least, if you ask your doctor about it.

spleed before 11:00

Actually, many people with all types of severe lung diseases have skin problems. They can be caused by all kinds of things. Since your skin is an organ, it requires oxygen to live. If your lungs are not functioning properly, the available oxygen is sent to the most important organs first - brain, heart, etc. The skin is way down the list. The skin problems can be from things like a fungus - most are anaerobic (meaning they like to live in places without a lot of oxygen). If your skin isn’t getting enough oxygen, the fungus will thrive. Your skin will also dry out faster because of your lung disease and cause things like eczema.
Your best bet would be to see a dermatologist. An explanation of dead blood cells caused by coughing may not be exact. While the doctors may not be concerned, you have every right to be concerned about your appearance. It is important for you to have a high self-esteem and a positive attitude. If getting your skin problems cleared up helps your attitude, that is an important part of how you deal with your disease. Talk with your mother and see if it may be possible to see a dermatologist. A referral from your pulmonary doctor or family doctor should get you an appointment. Good luck and hang in there.
