Would you be more embarrassed about weight or skin problems?

I have been staying away from all my favorite sugary foods not because I’m dieting, but because I have some pimples I hate. I don’t know what to say to my friends every time they ask why I’m not eating that candy because pimples are really embarrassing and I would seem self-absorbed or whatever if I’m “dieting” since I REALLY have no need to since I’m an athlete.

    Actually, scientists haven’t been able to find a link between unhealthy diets and acne - no one has been able to prove a general case.

    I don’t think it hurts to stick to healthy food, though. But I also don’t think it’s likely that candy is the source of your skin problems. Markiza

    simply tell the truth, sugar doesnt suit u and dont explain too much to avoid unnecessary opinions and thats it and u real friends will understand and for the rest u dont hav to bother abt wat they think NGS

    Pimples are sooo not a big deal as soon as you get the right products. if you do a face wash, something like Clean and Clear or just any micro cleanser and wash your pillow often they should clear right up. You shoulden’t avoid sugar it is a important part of a persons diet cool lady haha

    either way im sure u are goregous. but u shouldnt be embarrassed alot of teenager as myself have some form of acne. there are medications u can try or skin cleansers that work wonders. but u should tell them straight up that you dont want to eat junk food b.c it makes u break out. im sure they wont laugh at u b.c im sure they have the same problem. but if you love candy find something that taste sweet but doesnt make u break out like gum or something. well i hope i helped a little and good luck bubbaskids40

    Wash your face twice daily and moisturize. if you don’t moisturize your body thinks its not producing enough oil so it works twice as hard which can cause pimples. i find eating lots of vegies and fruit help my skin stay clear. Carrots are really good for the skin. your an athlete so i take it you drink alot of water already. theres no fact that sugary foods cause ance. alsong your eating mostly good food and your diet isnt based on junk Mle69

    i would be more embarassed if i were over weight!! i get zits too but i rather get zits than be obese coz i know the zit will go away tomorrow but if im overweight it won’t go away in one day.

    @ the first answerer: “Scientists have been unable to find a link between unhealthy diets”. -true but they have found a link between the triglycerides in the blood and acne. Sugary stuff and dairy stuff increase the triglyceride levels in the blood.

    But if you still find yourself developing more zits then it could be because of hormonal imbalance. see a dermatologist. The doc will prescribe some androgen receptor blockers. A high protein diet would be the best for you since you are an athlete. Sabatini
